Our journey towards the South of France continued in perfect sunny weather, the quiet roads through the wine-growing regions around Dijon took us alongside the river Saone as it meanders through the Beaujolais, towards the picturesque town of Macon. We decided that this elegant and interesting town with its riverside shops and cafés, would be charming and romantic place to make our second overnight stop in France.
