She had forgotten to set the alarm clock the previous night so she and her husband Alex had over-slept. As Alex showered she went down to the kitchen to prepare his breakfast. Somehow she had got distracted and had burnt the toast, setting off the smoke alarm. What a noise. Alex had appeared dripping wet from the shower to discover the false alarm.
